This psychological drama explores the potential consequences of the controversial "three strikes" law. After Randy (Michael Pitt) vandalizes a car, he finds himself thrown into prison for 25 years because of two earlier marijuana possession convictions. He's soon drawn into a complex and disturbing relationship with his friendly but hard-edged cellmate, Jake (Stephen Adly Guirgis), a man serving time for slitting his unfaithful wife's throat.
