Jarrett Mattison (Tom Skerrit) loves his wife (Lesley Ann Warren), but she suffers from multiple sclerosis, and the debilitating disease is taking its toll on their marriage. Desperate for help, he hires a young woman (Marg Helgenberger) to look after her and help out around the house. Soon, however, Jarrett and the new assistant are embroiled in a clandestine affair that could have a devastating impact if the secret were to get out.
