This humorous and absorbing documentary examines the phenomenon of West Texas music. Though Lubbock is small, flat and windswept, it's proved fertile ground for its native musicians -- including Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Waylon Jennings -- who've had a huge influence on America's musical history. Among the featured artists are the Flatlanders (Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock), Terry Allen and the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines.
