Tragedy ensues when schoolteacher Dinanath (Saeed Jaffrey) arranges a marriage for his daughter (Pallavi Joshi) but can't come up with the dowry. Desperate, he gives the groom's family fake gold. In short order, they find out; the wedding is canceled; the daughter commits suicide; and dad dies of a heart attack. Now, Dinanath's remaining son (Mithun Chakraborty) is determined to avenge his father's death, becoming a bandit in the process.
