During World War II, military attorney Lt. Col. Barney Adams (Robert Mitchum) must determine if an American soldier (Keenan Wynn) is competent to stand trial after murdering a British officer. Adams soon finds himself in a political pressure cooker as tensions between the American and British allies grow. Based on Howard Fast's novel The Winston Affair, this tense crime drama co-stars France Nuyen, Barry Sullivan, Trevor Howard and Sam Wanamaker.
