In 1906 Manila, U.S. military doctor Bill Canavan (Gary Cooper) helps train the local militia to strike down an uprising by the fearless Moro tribe, while fighting to treat victims of a cholera epidemic. At his side are tough mercenaries Lt. McCool (David Niven) and Lt. Larsen (Broderick Crawford). It's nonstop action in this sweeping adventure, expertly directed by Hollywood workhorse Henry Hathaway.
