After moving to a Connecticut farming community with his mother (Claudette Colbert), young Parrish McLean (Troy Donahue) becomes embroiled in a feud involving ruthless tobacco tycoon Judd Raike (a scenery-chewing Karl Malden) and a strong-willed widower (Dean Jagger). But Parrish also finds himself at the center of romantic entanglements with three women (Connie Stevens, Diane McBain and Sharon Hugueny) in this 1961 drama.
