After escaping murder at the hands of his jealous brother, a young feudal lord (Hanshiro Iwai) escapes with the help of his six most trusted men. Together, the entourage crosses through the Kaga Province -- disguised as monks. The rubber-faced Kenichi Enomoto provides the comic relief as a troublemaking porter in master director Akira Kurosawa's early film, based on an ancient Japanese Noh play.
