The Weavers, favorites of the Grand Ole Opry, star in this earnest drama from Republic Studios about scrubwoman Mary Shoemaker (Spring Byington), who is accused of theft. Judge Abner Weaver (Leon Weaver) comes to her defense, even though he ends up on trial himself. Opposing Abner is banker August Huston (Frank M. Thomas), who fears that his daughter, Hettie (Veda Ann Borg), committed the crime to attract the attention of a lawyer (Roy Rogers).
