Famke Janssen

Blessed with knockout good looks, Famke Janssen was born Nov. 5, 1965, in Amsterdam, Holland, and began modeling at a young age. Her decision to enroll in an acting workshop at Columbia University opened doors to star opposite Jeff Goldblum in Fathers & Sons (1992), and she soon appeared on the small screen in the made-for-TV actioner Model by Day (1994).

Janssen hit her cinematic stride with 1995's GoldenEye, playing villainess Xenia Onatopp. The star's subsequent turn as comic-book heroine Jean Grey (aka Phoenix) in the big-screen trilogy X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) introduced Janssen to a new legion of fans and brought her lasting fame.

Among Janssen's other notable credits are Rounders (1998), Celebrity (1998), Love & Sex (2000), I Spy (2002) and the hit cable drama "Nip/Tuck." In 2012, she joined the cast of the Netflix original series "Hemlock Grove."
