Kumar set his sights on the movie industry while attending college. After toiling as a waiter in Bangkok, Thailand, and studying martial arts in Hong Kong, Kumar reaped the benefits of a modeling stint that led him back to Mumbai and into the exhilarating world of motion pictures.
Kumar's breakout role came in the 1992 suspense thriller Khiladi. In 1994, he firmly established his action-hero screen persona in Elaan, followed quickly by the films Mohra, Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Suhaag (all 1994). Kumar's later works of note include Hera Pheri (2000), Khiladi 420 (2000) and Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005).
