Jesse Eisenberg

A curly-haired actor who (much like acting contemporary Michael Cera) rose to fame playing offbeat everymen, Jesse Eisenberg was born Oct. 5, 1983, in Queens, N.Y., and raised in New Jersey. His mother was a professional clown, and his younger sister, Hallie Kate, worked as a child actress in movies and television, most notably as the Pepsi girl in a series of popular TV commercials.

With roots in the theater, Eisenberg made his silver-screen debut playing Campbell Scott's nephew in the indie comedy Roger Dodger (2002). Eisenberg earned kudos from critics for his poignant turn as a conflicted teen in The Squid and the Whale (2005) and won over audiences while fighting the undead alongside Woody Harrelson in Zombieland (2009).

Eisenberg scored his first Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network (2010).
