Miss Piggy

Another product of Jim Henson's fertile imagination, charm-school graduate Miss Piggy sold gloves in a department store before getting her first break as a spokespig in television commercials. While continuing to pursue an acting career, she entered a beauty pageant where she met the frog of her dreams, Kermit, and was soon cast as a minor character on the popular TV series "The Muppet Show."

Miss Piggy (voiced by Frank Oz until 2001, when Eric Jacobson took over) ultimately became the lead songbird and a central player on the program. In 1979, the golden-tressed diva realized her ambition of silver-screen success when she appeared in The Muppet Movie alongside her beloved "Kermie."

Miss Piggy has since racked up a number of other film credits, including The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), Muppet Treasure Island (1996) and Muppets from Space (1999).
