Rogers appeared in two made-for-TV movies and then jumped to theatrical films beginning with Blue Skies Again in 1983. A smoldering performance opposite Tom Berenger in 1987's Someone to Watch Over Me changed her virtuous image and started her on the road to fame. Rogers followed up with The Mighty Quinn (1989) and Desperate Hours (1990), and she displayed her considerable dramatic skills in The Rapture (1991). Her breakthrough role finally came in The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996).
Rogers's subsequent films of note include Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), Lost in Space (1998) and Cruel Intentions 2 (2000).
